![]() Pilgrim Motor Home 36' Diesel Pusher It started its life as a 36' Bounder Diesel pusher unit in 1992 but the inside was destroyed by fire in 1994. With the amount of structural damage to the inside it was apparent that the unit would have to go through a major overhaul and at that point it was completely stripped down to the frame and front windscreen (picture of stripped down unit) then rebuilt from the bottom up with a tubular steel frame, rubber roof, the best of construction materials, appliances, equipment and workmanship. Now with a completely brand new wide body on it in 2000 complete with slide, basement, air conditioning, hydraulic leveling jacks, diesel 6.5KW generator, solid oak cabinets throughout, queen size walk around bed, entertainment center beside dining area, rear camera, and much more. Very comfortable and well laid out, it was ready to hit the road. With just over 85,000 original miles on the power train it is hardly broken in and runs like a kitten. Over the last year we averaged 11 miles per gallon. When we purchased the motorhome from the company that restored it, we were semi-retiring with plans to travel all over the place doing web design and internet hosting sales to help the company that had purchased our business. Our plans were all changed in May of 2002 when the company that had taken over our business defaulted on the purchase leaving the company in a very poor financial state putting our plans on hold for a couple of years until we finish recovering our business. Over the next few of summers we took our Pilgrim Motor Home out to Drewry Lake were I commuted back and forth to work each day. WOW how time flies it is now 2010 and we are on our way to retirement again. I turned the once again profitable business over to another company and am working for that company for a while to help them thru the transition. In the fall of 2010 we went on a Panama cruse and the in 2011 we took our Pilgrim Motor Home on an Alaskan adventure covering over 5000 mile on our trip With fuel prices up we were worried about the cost but at the end of the trip it worked out that we got 11.9 miles per gallon and the Pilgrim ran like a top.
